What is STATIK?

STATIK stands for Systems Thinking Approach to Introducing Kanban and is the recommended approach for introducing Kanban in a new context. It is a “how-to” for designing service-oriented Kanban Systems. Common activities when using STATIK include:

• Identify sources of dissatisfaction
• Analyze demand
• Analyze capability
• Model the workflow
• Identify classes of service
• Design the Kanban System

Is the STATIK Workshop the right for me?

You should consider the STATIK workshop if:

• Your current process is stuck and you are not sure where you can improve it

• You have never designed a Kanban System before and you don’t know where to start

• You would like to make your process better aligned with your customer’s purpose and needs

• You are looking for a tool which will help you quickly identify improvement opportunities

Pre-Requisites

All experience levels are welcome! No previous Kanban training or experience is required.

Target Audience

This workshop is open to all professionals interested in Kanban or systems thinking. It’s an ideal course for newcomers to Kanban, as well as, KSD alumni seeking to deepen their understanding of STATIK.

Learning Objectives:

In this interactive workshop, you’ll master the key concepts of designing a Kanban System and workflow optimization. By the end, you’ll be able to design a customized Kanban system and create a Kanban board suited to your work.

Course Format:

The STATIK Workshop combines presentations with hands-on exercises. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of applying each STATIK step, plus two additional discussion points on “Cadences” and “Explicit policies”, making your Kanban System truly adjusted to YOUR customers’ purpose.
