Here is how courses, certifications, credentials, and Kanban certification paths fit together.

Every Kanban University course awards a certificate of completion. A credential is a separate recognition of a completed certification pathway, so not every course certificate is itself a credential. Some credentials are earned through one course; others require several courses or another credential as a prerequisite.

Yes. Credentials such as Team Kanban Practitioner and Flow Manager are earned through a single course. Others, such as Kanban Management Professional, reflect a broader pathway with multiple requirements.

Advanced pathways build on shared knowledge and practical experience. Prerequisites help make sure each next step has the foundation it needs.

Total Immersion is a new Kanban University class format. Total Immersion classes are taught online inside Kanban+, on real FlowBoards. Both formats award the same official Kanban University certificates and credentials. Learn more about Total Immersion.

Yes. Credentials and prerequisites count the same in both formats. For example, a Kanban Management Professional who earned KMP in the traditional format can take Enterprise Scale Kanban in Total Immersion to earn Enterprise Delivery Manager.

Yes. An exam is part of the Kanban Coaching Professional pathway. Because full KCP is required for the Accredited Kanban Consultant pathway, the exam is also part of the journey to AKC. Other credential paths do not include an exam.

    Step one

    Choose a
    certification path

    Start with your goal, then check which courses the path requires. For KMP, the route is KSD plus KSI or KDI.

    Step two

    Select an
    accredited trainer

    Choose a trainer and course dates from the Kanban University catalogue. You will then register directly on that trainer's own website.

    Every trainer in the catalogue is accredited by Kanban University, so you can register with confidence on their own website.

    Step three

    Attend training
    and earn your credential

    Attend the required courses. Each one awards an official Kanban University training certificate; after both course requirements are met, you earn the KMP credential.
